We’re very happy to welcome award-winning director Remy van Heugten to Shortcutz Amsterdam on October 20, together with editor Fatih Tura, production designer Joyce van Diepen and director of photography Mark van Aller, for a special conversation about the Videoland Original series BASTA.
Remy works across film and television and is best known for his feature Gluckauf, which won four Golden Calves, including Best Film and Best Director. His work also includes Mascotte, Valentino and Judas II: Dagboek van een getuige.
His latest project, BASTA, is a seven-part drama inspired by the life of legendary Dutch footballer Marco van Basten. Since its release on Videoland, the series has received a strong critical response, praised for going far beyond football to explore ambition, pressure, pain and the human cost of an extraordinary career.
Remy, Fatih, Joyce and Mark will join us to take us behind the scenes of the series and talk about turning the life of one of the Netherlands’ greatest sporting icons into compelling drama, from directing and performance to editing, cinematography and production design.
