We’re honoured to welcome actress Monic Hendrickx to Shortcutz Amsterdam on October 21!

Monic Hendrickx grew up in Paramaribo, Surinam, before returning to the Dutch village of Deurne at age seven.

Her breakthrough came with The Polish Bride (1998), directed by Karim Traïdia, earning her the Golden Calf for Best Actress and establishing her as one of the leading talents of her generation. She went on to deliver acclaimed performances in Nynke, Leef!, Het Zuiden, Nadine, Kenau, Café Derby, Hope, and Unfinished Sky—the latter earning her the AFI Award for Best Actress in Australia.

In 2025, she stars in the new NPO series Suga. Monic will join us for a Q&A about Suga and her remarkable career spanning over three decades in Dutch film and television.
