We’re honoured to welcome director Hugo Keijzer and producer Maurice Schutte back to Shortcutz Amsterdam! In 2019 they screened their short film The Occupant in our competition sharing a dream of expanding it into a feature.

In 2025 they return as special guests with that feature realised. Their survival sci‑fi thriller The Occupant had its world premiere at the inaugural SXSW London. Starring Ella Balinska (Charlie’s Angels, Resident Evil) and Rob Delaney (Deadpool, Catastrophe), it follows a geologist struggling to survive after a helicopter crash in the Georgian mountains. The film reaches Dutch cinemas on 6  November , but audiences can catch it earlier at the Imagine Film Festival (1 & 4 November).

Hugo and Maurice will discuss their long‑term collaboration, from their 2019 short to this feature debut, and share insights about shooting in remote locations and their next projects.
